Fireworks

We had a great weekend. The Stony Creek fireworks were last night. Apparently, they are always the last Saturday in June, and we never knew about it till this year. Lori told us about them, and I am glad. Drew had a baseball game at 3 yesterday (it was a tie), then we came home, packed up some stuff and headed to the beach. Drew, Lori and I went swimming, while Chris and Dave set up camp near a grill so we could eat. We hung out, ate, listened to tunes, and watched the fireworks at dark. It was a nice show. Drew loved them. LOVED THEM! He would giggle everytime it would 'boom' then the flash would come a few seconds later. He kills me. He fell fast asleep in the car on the way home, and didn't even wake up when I put him to bed. Slept 7 straight hours too. Who are you, and what have you done with Drew???? tee hee.
Today, we hung out in the pouring rain the first part of the day, then Drew helped Daddy with yardwork while I made pierogies. Yes, I cook. occasionally. when I have time.
We are looking forward to going to the cottage Thursday for a long weekend. they have fireworks on the beach too, at Forest Lake. 2 weeks in a row of fireworks on the beach! who lives better than us, right?? I don't have any pics from the weekend, but I will include one from a while ago for your viewing pleasure. :)

Father's Day

We had an awesome Father's Day weekend at the cottage. The weather was gorgeous, just scattered T storms, but the days always end up beautiful. It storms for a bit, then clears right up. We went on a long walk while daddy was fishing (mommy is training for the Breast Cancer 3 day, so we walked to the beach and back) I slept most of the way, while mom sung (off key) along with her MP3 player.
Then went to a Biker's 4 Kids bike rodeo where they had games, food, a bouncy house and everyone got to whip water balloons at the group's president while he hid behind his Harley. I loved that part the best. We also went to the beach and hung out. We went on Daddy's boat the next day, as you can see from the pics. It is a small fishing boat, but daddy wanted me and mommy to hang out with him on Father's Day. He rocks. He strapped my car seat to the boat seat, which swivels so I can see from all angles. Mom sat on a lawn chair holding on to my seat, even tho I told her I wasn't scared. I only got scared twice when other boats came close and the waves moved our boat. As long as I could see what was making the waves, I thought it was totally fun. The first two times I didn't look quick enough and got a bit scared. Mommy said I am very brave, and adventurous. I think that means I like fun stuff. I was cracking up when the boat rocked. Mommy wants everyone reading out there to know that I was 100% safe, and attached to a flotation device, and we never even went fast. :-)
I kept saying 'faster', but mommy kept saying 'I love you too', or 'are you thirsty?' so she just didn't get it. Sometimes I think there is something wrong with her ears, cuz she says some weird stuff when I am talking to her. Oh, well.
I hope everyone out there had a great Father's Day, and hope that everyone has a great a daddy as I do. He loves me and makes sure I always have fun and feel soooooo loved.

Drew's first baseball game

Last Sunday was the Challenger Division's first game of 2008. We are waiting on our field of dreams to be completed...so this game was at the 'old' field. The new field is adapted to our needs, with lots of shade, tire crumb rubber basepaths, and walkways to the field.

I posted the pics on Snapfish. Here are a few of Boogie, enduring in the heat. It was muggy and about 90 degrees!!! Notice the bare feet. Form follows function with Team Kijek. :)

We have some new friends on the team this year. We are still in need of additional funding for our new field, and are selling brick pavers to offset the cost. Lemme know if you are interested in your family or business being a fixture at the Challenger's field!!!!

this is new...

I am trying to set up this blog, since I am so impressed with Maggie's!! And we just got our power back on after the storms, so I am fiending for some computer time!!!! This should be pretty cool, since those of you who know me know that I am a running-commentary kind of person, always making a short story long. This is a good fit!!
I will be posting lots of pictures and adventures of Team Kijek for you to enjoy while you should be working. tee hee!!

Thought for the Day

It isn't how you walk in life, but how you walk through life that matters.
