NovemBRRR

It's starting to get really chilly outside...and I decided to try really hard to have Christmas spirit this year. Chris put our tree up at the beginning of November (I don't like it up till after Thanksgiving, but he won this year...) and I have to admit, I am feeling festive! Gonna try really hard to ignore the commercialism this year and not be annoyed by things like 'X mas' (Christ is the reason for the holiday after all) and the incessant repetition of the same Christmas songs on the radio for almost 2 months. I am going to try and ignore the retailers trying to cash in (Happy Holidays! half-off green beans! ), the impatience of shoppers waiting in line, driving too fast, and being downright rude.

Instead, I am going to follow Buddy the Elf's advice: The best way to spread Christmas Cheer is by singing LOUDLY for all to hear!

And revel in the wonderment that Drew feels this time of year. He loves Birthdays! Especially Jesus'. :)

Peace to you this Christmas and Holiday season...no matter what you celebrate, share the love!

AMEN!!!!! The Christ-mas spirit is in the giving "up or in" to those things that cause distress. I give up things that stress me out. And I try to give in to the crazy people..... "for they know not what they do." A very wise king once said that.

The sparkling tree reminds us of the anticipation. Susie made me a gorgeous nartivity set way back in 1985. It is 21 pieces. Each one is my favorite to place carefully, on my table in a room I am always in. In all htese years, with all those pieces, not one has even a chip on it. It is my greatest gift and reminder of the true meaning of Christmas. Christ came humbly in to this world, grew up in a family that took the challenge of raising the son of God, and he gave his life so I could live eternally. That comforts my heart.

I wish I could be there to see all of you and share in this wonderfilled time. I know you are so much more joyful and excited about this time!!!! And I bet I will be able to hear you singing, even if we are 600 miles apart!!! That is just your joyful heart expressing your happiness!

Thought for the Day

It isn't how you walk in life, but how you walk through life that matters.
